  • Condition: This Early American Michard Carrousel Teddy Bear is 18” tall . He is a vintage styled Football shooed Teddy Bear with a large hump on the back. Terri and Doris Michard of Chesaning Michigan were one of the leaders in the beginning of the Teddy Bear artist movement in the USA.The Michard’s were inspired to create bears like the Steiff Teddy Bears. This Teddy is in excellent condition only used as a display Bear from my store inventory. I had created a display of bears that were not for sale presenting a History of Teddy Bears.     This listing is for an early 18” Michard  Artist Bear.
    This handcrafted mohair artist  teddy bear has  the original tag on his foot and is signed by the artists on the other foot. The Michard were leaders in the early  handcrafted Teddy Bear movement in the USA. The Bear has a vintage styled football type body with the typical large hump like Steiff Bears. The Teddy is named Carrousel and made of beige honey color mohair.
    This
    fine quality  artist mohair teddy bear is  fully jointed and can be posed to sit or stand also the neck and arms are jointed.
    This bear is clean and in excellent condition from my store inventory. I closed the store, unfortunately due to the changing economy and have set aside many fine artist bears and Steiff bears.
