    Description

    6”
    KATYLIN
from OOAK Bear Artist DEBRA EVANS of BERRY-PATCH DESIGNS with Vintage TEA CUP/ SAUCER and Hang Tag
    Katylin
is an OOAK Bear from English artist Debra Evans of Berry-Patch Designs.  I purchased her directly from the artist in 1999.
One of the pictures shows her seated on one of my dolls, Hilda, who is currently for sale in
    another
auction.  Katylin’s bent knee body shows how easily she sits on a doll’s lap!  This auction does NOT include Hilda.
She was designated as a “TEACUP FULL of LOVE”.  She comes with her own vintage Japanese Teacup and Saucer.
    UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS
    of
    Katylin
    are:
    ·
Muted white and pink medium “long hair” mohair with deep pink three (3) stitch on each paw pad.
    ·
Black glass button eyes with a delicate expression—just look at that classic face!!!
    ·
Stitched nose and mouth in pink cotton thread and shaved muzzle.
    ·
Poly-pellet filled, with a bent knee body that easily sits in the tea cup, in a lap, or on a shelf.
    ·
Four (4) disk joints and are very poseable (no neck joint).
    ·
Pink silk bow with silk rose embellishment by left ear.
    ·
Sitting in a vintage porcelain Japanese teacup and saucer. They were purposefully mismatched and came that way and are complimentary together.
    o
The teacup is lined with a vintage silk handkerchief and tied with a light pink silk ribbon bow with rose embellishment at the handle.  It is Japanese Fine China by Fantasia Florenteen from the 1950’s.
    o
The saucer is double-handled and is older than the teacup (probably by 20- 30 years, 1920’s- 1930’s) and is imprinted on the bottom of NIPPON, Hand Painted, and ELITE.
    ·
The artist’s clear rubber hang tag of Debra Evans is found at the back of the neck (see picture).
    MEASUREMENTS
    :
    ·
Katylin Bear is 6” long and 5.5” tall sitting in her teacup.
    ·
The saucer base is nearly 5” in diameter.
    CONDITION
    :
EXCELLENT.  Katylin was always stored in a cabinet in her teacup.  The teacup has no obvious chips or cracks.
I don’t believe Debra Evans makes bears anymore but I am not sure.  She was a premier smaller bear artist around the year I purchased her.
Take a look at my other auctions.
I have two (2) uncommon “googly” dolls from the firms of Heubach (# 10730) and Armand Marseilles (# 253), an 11” glass-eyed Chad Valley doll with vintage clothing, a vintage OOAK mohair bear, very rare 18” Kley Hahn 169 boy doll with exceptional clothing, wonderful 16” Kestner 245 “Hilda”, and a 22” French Bebe walking/ kissing/ flirty doll with SH 1039 bisque head with custom made sailor outfit.
I also have a whimsical antique French plant stand that has an arts-and-crafts look.
I AM A NON-SMOKER and have NO PETS.
