Pair of Handmade Quilted Bears Tagged June Bonnigson Artist Jointed Wearing Baby Shoes 17” Tall
Absolutely adorable pair of handmade quilted bears by June Bonnigson from Bellevue, Ohio. These are in great condition. The girl bear is named Effie. There was an original paper tag when I bought her, but it is gone now. I named the boy Evan since he didn't have a paper tag when I bought him.
Each is made from an old quilt. Arms and legs are jointed. The girl's dress is from vintage fabric and the elastic on the short sleeves is stretched. Small tear in the seam of one sleeve which can easily be sewn. The boy's clothes are vintage knitted doll clothes. There are some tiny spots of age rust, but not very noticeable. Each bear is holding a plastic toy. Both bears wear vintage hard-soled baby shoes. Shoes are scuffed and have soil on the bottom from the bears walking around when no one is looking. lol
Not sure of the age, but the bears are probably vintage. There is an embroidered tush tag on each bear with June's name and address. Some of the stitches on the old quilt are loose.
This will be a wonderful addition to your bear collection. I will miss them, but they will be happy in a new home.
