High quality suede tongue pad-insert pairs made in Germany of genuine VEGETABLE TANNED suede with memory foam insert. These adhere to the underside of the shoe's tongue to enhance fit and comfort. These are far BETTER THAN FELT COUNTERPARTS as I've tried both and like the durability of these much better.
I've personally been using these for years on my high-end dress shoes like Enzo Bonafe since the shoes have a high in-step and I needed to fill space at the in-step to get a better fit. These work great for loafers as well to help with a better and more snug fit if the loafers tend to slip out too easily. If your instep is sensitive, these can add padding for additional comfort.
There is a self adhesive backing making these very easy to install. I'd recommend cleaning the tongue with an alcohol pad, applying the tongue pad, then inserting a higher instep shoe tree (like Woodlore's epic twin tube or similar) and let set in for 24 hours prior to using. I recommended lightly brushing the tongue pads with a suede brush regularly to help preserve the nap of the suede.
These have been used in my Edward Green, Carmina, Alden and similar quality handwelted or goodyear welted shoes for many years with great results.
